Buffer overrun detected

When I try to open a form in infopath it gives me the following error:
"MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ RUNTIME LIBRARY"
Buffer overrun detected!

Program:...m Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Infopath.exe

a buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely conticnue execution and must now be
terminated.

I have installed SP3 but this did't solve the problem. On other computers it
works but on one computer it does not work.
Does anybody has an idea what is the problem on that pc?

Thanks for all help

Hello,

I know this is going to sound like particularly unhelpful advice, but I'd
suggest an uninstall reinstall of Infopath on the offending PC. If it works
on another machine, that probably rules out problems with the form. Sounds
like your InfoPath install is hosed.

Do other forms open OK? Does the form have any special Form_Loading events
happening that look for different resources or do "tricky things"?

HTH

Gavin.

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for the advice you gave me. I have re installed Infopath software but
the problem stays the same.
So re installation of the software did not help me.

I get a buffer overrun similar to what you describe when I add too much items (about 16) to a combobox.

I thought hand-editing the XSL file might work around the problem, but then the buffer overrun occurs immediatly on openening the form in designmode.

Haven't found a solution yet. Can't really believe this bug is unresolved in Infopath 2007..

Hey Ries,
How have you added the items to your drop down list?
are you sourcing them externally? or have you inserted them directly into
the form?

Cheers,
Ben
