buffer overrun

When I trie to open a document in Word I get a message: Buffer overrun
detected!
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program winword.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrumpted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated.

Wat might be the cause? I've oalready searched the discussion groups with
very little result.
Anyone who can tell me step by step what to do?

I have the same problem. With me it is related to the proofing tools
(spelling check) I installed. Don't have a solution for that, other than
deinstalling the proofing tools.
