Not a bug, Excel Windows default date system starts January 0, 1900, Mac
Excel default starts January 1 1904,
meaning if you have a spreadsheet created with one or the other there will
be a difference of 1462 days.
You can set that in Mac under Preferences>Calculation, under Windows
Tools>Options>Calculation. You can select which system to use and if you
need to convert either add or subtract
1462, put 1462 in an empty cell and copy it, select the dates and do
edit>paste special and select add or subtract depending on where you
are coming from.

In your diary. Go to Excel/Preferences/Calculation.

In Workbook options, make sure both Workbooks have the same setting for
"1904 date system". In Excel Mac, that checkbox is checked by default, but
for workbooks originating on Windows it will be unchecked. (On Windows, the
1900 date system is used.)
