Bug in name display in Outlook 2003 SP1

J

John Madden

Hi,

I have this weird problem were certain emails coming from the Internet with
the "From:" empty show up as myself when looking at the email in the inbox.

Ex: (This is taken from View/Options menu)

Reply-To: (e-mail address removed)
From: "" <[email protected]>
MIME-Version: 1.0
X-Sender: (e-mail address removed)
X-Mailer: PHP
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

My GAL name is displayed with the Internet address like so:

Madden, John ([email protected])

As anyone experienced this ?

Thanks

are you sure the from field was empty before? It's a trick of many spammers
to send you spam from yourself.

As the Message Header shows, my name does not appear anywhere so it has to be
the client or the Exchange Server
