Bug in Office Update for Office 2003 Installation

A

AA Smith

I just installed Office 2003 Standard Edition under WinXP Pro. As the installation was finishing, it asked if I wanted to navigate to Office Update to get the latest updates for Office 2003. I clicked Yes. While downloading/installing the updates that OU found, it asked me to insert the my FrontPage 2002 installation disk, which I did and clicked OK. It then proceeded for awhile until a bizarre message appeared asking me to insert the Office 2003 SMALL BUSINESS Edition installation disk (which I don't have and never did,) so I tried inserting the Office 21003 Standard Edition CD in the CD-ROM drive and then clicked OK, thinking that perhaps the message simply called for the wrong installation disk. However, that did not work. It only resulted in an error dialogue popping up that basically said OU couldn't find Office 2003 SMALL BUSINESS Edition, so I should put it in the CD-ROM drive or find SBERET.msi somewhere in my system (or on the CD) from which I can (manually, I guess) run whatever update it has downloaded.

I have no idea why OU tried to install updates to Office 2003 SMALL BUSINESS Edition. As it now stands, I have not responded to that error message, and my computer is tied up awaiting a reply.

I guess that Office 2003 Standard Edition is completely installed as are updates to that group of applications and my FP 2002. That being the case, can I simply cancel the rest of Office Update? Or should I take other measures?

I shall greatly appreciate your help.
