Bug in Word

P

Prew

I have several documents saved as form templates.

In order to spell check the documents I need to click the
lock on the Forms toolbar. I spell check the document
and reclick the lock. Make more changes and try to spell
check again. However, this time, the spell checker will
not find any misspelled words, and worse yet, when I
reclick the lock, all of the typed in information
disappears and apparently cannot be recovered!

This issue was replicated on Office XP and Office 2000 on
several computers.

The normal behavior for protected forms is to clear the form fields when
forms are unprotected, then reprotected. In Word 2002 and above, this does
*not* happen provided you use the padlock button on the Forms toolbar
instead of Tools | Protect/Unprotect.
