Bug Report: OL2003 Crash Pasting Contact w/ Update Info to a Contact in Conflict State ... need help

R

Robb

to reproduce:

1. Start with two Address Books, e.g. named "Destination" and "Source"
(not dependent upon name)
2. Ensure the same contact appears in both
3. Get the record in "Destination" into conflict state
4. Add an e-mail address to the contact in "Source"
5. Select All in "Source," then choose Edit - Copy
6. Click on the "Destination" folder, then choose Edit - Paste
7. At the dialog asking whether to Allow Dups, Update Records, or
Ignore Dups, choose Update Records
8. Choose to Update Record (or Update All, crashes either way) when
the case comes up that a record already exists
RESULT: When the Paste operation gets to the record in conflict,
Outlook Crashes

Note: After taking the record out of conflict by selecting the later
version of the record, and repeating steps 5-8, the crash does not
occur. I've reproduced this twice on my machine, but haven't tried any
other machines.

I am on a corporate installation, so I cannot e-mail support for free!
And due to the virus crisis, I cannot get through to Microsoft's
"Report A Bug" line. If someone with Microsoft, or the with the
appropriate reporting e-mail address, could get this reported for me, I
would appreciate the assistance. Or reproduce it yourself and take the
credit! (grin)
