Bug Reporting

I have tried to use the support links to report various bugs in
Entourage and Office but always get a message saying support on
Entourage has been or is about to be discontinued - even though the
thoughtfully provided product lifecycle link
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/search/?sort=PN&alpha=Entourage&x=12&y=10
shows that Entourage is supported until 2008.

It also seems obvious, due to the number of unresolved posts on here,
that Microsoft do not monitor this forum effectively.

I cannot find any way of reporting a problem by email. I was offered a
toll-free number to call but this number can only be dialled from
within the USA (I am in Australia) and the only other suggestion was to
type and print a formal bug report and send it, with associated
printouts, by air mail to somewhere in the USA. Ahem... That's right
- air mail.

Is anyone aware of any way I can report a bug in Entourage's time
zones? I have a problem (as do others having reviewed the posts) with
the updated time zone for the delayed end to daylight saving in 2006
which causes all my appointments to appear one hour ahead of schedule
for the coming week.

Hello Microsoft? Anyone listening? If you are, it would be nice if
you would fix your website - its more than a little disconcerting to be
told that support for Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac is no longer
supported because it has reached, or is about to reach, the end of its
lifecycle... And it would be nice to have an email address for bug
reports.

You should post in the Entourage newsgroup. In fact, I think someone
already mentioned your problem there.

You are correct that the bug reporting/feedback situation is idiotic
and completely insane. I don't know what process you are going through
to get the support discontinued message, but I can't find that here,
and it is certainly wrong.

However, posting in the newsgroups does reach Microsoft. Unresolved
threads simply mean that they are using the newsgroups to get pointers
for issues to investigate in their labs, they are not trying to help
support users. So the people in the MacBU who read the threads do not
usually post, but reports do get to the right place.
