Bug reports no longer welcomed by Microsoft?

I have a bonafide Excel bug, fully documented. The Microsoft website lists a
telephone number for reporting product bugs. After 20 minutes, the phone
tech was unable to transfer me to anyone to whom I could send an email with
the documented bug.

The tech wanted to open an incident report. All I wanted to do was quickly
email the example spreadsheet and documentation to MS. I don't need support;
I have already implemented a workaround. I just wanted to give MS the
courtesy of the research. I took the time to reduce this problem down to its
bare basics; making it extrememly simple to reproduce. This is a fundamental
problem in the Validation code, having to do with dropdown lists.

My time is money. Your time is money. Why Microsoft no longer wants to
improve its products is beyond me. But I now know not to waste my time for
your benefit.

Same case here, a very simple bug in xl2000 and 2002, was working fine in
1997 and still not getting any feedback from them.
