Bug resolution postponed?

G

Grumpy

Having posted a few bugs (IMHO) on the Connect Website, I now find that these
are being marked 'closed' with the resolution either 'By Design' or
'Postponed'. What do these mean? Is postponed a technical MS term for 'we
can't fix it?'

By design means that what you found to be a bug is actually intended to
be this way.
Postponed means that MS won't fix it in OneNote 2007, but will look at
it for the next version (to be due in 3-4 years from now). Generally MS
will postpone anything that would require a major effort at this stage.
It is far too late in the beta cycle to implement any major changes, as
MS needs to deliver a relatively bug-free OneNote in November or so.
If you are interested in getting a better explanation as to why you got
either response, post your issues here. Please copy & paste what you
sent to MS into your posts and don't just provide a link to connect.
Also, use one thread for each issue.

Thanks,

Patrick Schmid
