Bug in MS-Word 2003:

Menu: Tools>Option>View>Show section> Left scroll bar (missing)

This following check button is not in the Option-window, but described in
context help window.

Left scroll bar : Places the vertical scroll bar on the left side of the
document window. Use this option when working with documents that
predominantly use right-to-left text.

No, it is not a bug. That option (and the Right Ruler option) is visible
only when at least one right-to-left language is enabled.

To enable a language, go to Start menu > Programs > Microsoft Office >
Microsoft Office Tools > Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings. Select the
language and click the Add button. Then click OK. If any Office programs are
open, they will be closed and reopened automatically to enable the language
support.
