build a cube in msps 2007

Hi everyone,

I have done Microsoft Office Project server 2007 (TRIAL
VERSION) "stand alone installation" using Windows Server 2003 Standard
Edition (trial version) on a Virtual Machine. I want to create cubes
in msps 2007.
I also want to know what is the interface used . But i am not able to
build cubes. I request to please guide with the
user manual which describes all the prerequisites , step - by - step
procedure used.. Please help me...

I saw the link which you sent and tried the following steps:
1.Installed SQLserver 2000 with sp4 from CD.
2.Installed SQLserver 2000 Analysis services with sp4 from CD.
3.Then installed MSPS 2007 selecting "Advanced" and "stand alone "
installation.
4.Tried to configure analysis services as told in the link
(requirements for using sql erver 2000 analysis services)

5. In the build settings page if i try to create a cube, i am not able
to create it. I can see only this message "cube build request message
has been added to the project server queue" displayed on cube build
status page.
I am really stuck with this.. i request u to please guide & help
me...

If you selected the "Stand Alone" install rather than the "Small Farm"
option, therein lies your problem. Uninstall Project Server and reinstall
using the Small Farm option.

I have uninstalled msps 2007, Well , i can see 3 types of
installation
1. complete
2. web front end
3. stand - alone
among these 3 which is the "small farm" option which u r talking
about?
I selected "complete" installation but it is asking for
1. database server name - i tried giving my machine name but i got e
2. database name
3 . user account
4. password
when i tried to create a new farm, i am not knowing

You want the complete installation. You need to install SQL Server on the
machine before you install Project. Are you following the TechNet
installation guide?
