build custom document from longer doc

Starting with a 50 page document, I would like to build a 2 page customized
document, a subset, using the standard paragraphs from the larger document.
I would like to have a checklist, headings or a table of contents that will
give me the selections to choose from. Ideally these selections would be
questions whose answers determine which paragraphs I will need to build the
custom document.

You can hardly be expecting someone to write this for you. What have you
tried so far and where did you get stuck?
