Build Team will not match on generic resource skills

Bill

I have updated the RBS, I have created two more resource outline codes for
primary skills and such. When I select a generic resource within a project
plan and match to the existing resource pool, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Bill,

You need to assign the resource outline codes to the generic resources as
well as the actual resources. For example, if you are trying to match
language, you need to assign a language value to both the generic resource
and the actual resource so the software can find a match.

Are the resources attributed exactly the same? For instance, if one field
matches and the other doesn't, you don't have a match.

Gary,

the three fields I have are .... RBS (Which mathes) Primary Skills (which
match) and contractor ( left blank on the generic user). These are the
three fields. I've tried to add and change the value of contractor to see if
that made a difference. but in both cases the Match option did not work. If
I use the filters, it works fine.

Hope that helps.

silly question perhaps, but have you checked "Use this code for
matching generic resources" on the enterprise code for skills?

Do you have any other "skill" fields set to match - your mail suggests
you have a second? It may be a case of data not meeting the matching
criteria, which may be different from your filter.
