building a team from the resource pool

we use ad synch and all is working well except that after the synch new users
do not appear when building a team in ppro. Oddly the users are in fact in
the groups when i look in group memberships via pwa admin. I cant seem to get
any new users to appear in the list of ent resources...any ideas ?

It might be that you are synching users to security groups but you are
not synching AD users to the Resource Pool. AD Synch is sort of a two
part process. Just as you put all these users in AD groups that in turn
synch with Project Server security groups you also need to put them in
an AD group that synchs with the resource pool.

In addition to Brian's comment, you should know that synched resources are
imported as inactive by default. You need to set them to active, before
they'll show up in Build Team.

If you are using the RBS to control access to resources, then maybe the user
does not have permission to see those new resources if they have not been
assigned to the right RBS code.

Thanks for the responses but neither applies as the accounts are
automatically made status=active after a synch. As well in AD i have PS
groups created and they are all added to the resource pool group i created
and that is the group i synch with for AD. Plus i am doing the ps to ad group
synch as well. It was working correctly recently but something has gone wacky
on me. I cant put my finger on it. Any more ideas ?? Doesnt make sense to me
that the synch says success either manual or auto and the users show up in
the respective ps groups as they should "active" but when you go to ppro they
dont show up as available to build a team !!!

Good point but we arent using RBS. Here is the odd part of all this. it does
work !!! Some AD accounts work and others simply dont ???? Why ??? That is
what i cant figure out. I'm looking at various AD accounts and they appear to
all have the same basic properties. Is there some user account property that
could cause the user not to show up as a enterprise resource ? This has me
baffled.

for the record...i found the solution. I guess i should have read through all
the hofixes b4 posting my problem.... Ok so there is a hotfix for exactly
this problem. The KB885224 outlines the details and the hotfix did work for
me. Thank god.
