Building masters from masters

I have a project where I want to use masters (partially done so only on doc
stencil) to build a more complex master (partially don so only on doc
stencil). Aka analogous to build a wall (big master) with bricks (little
masters).

The problem is that when I make a change to a "brick" (editing in the doc
stencil / master window), the changes only take affect to the "brick" in
doc stencil and "brick" shape instances...the "wall" master and "wall"
shape instances are NOT updated.

I am a bit surprised about this behavior since I would think it would be
desirable to build masters from masters from masters and so on.

Whew, now I think understand you. It seems you saw the limit. The relation
may be hold only in a master and its instances on its drawing pages.
