Building Plan: what happened to the rightclick union command?

Hi all,

I'm using visio 2003 pro and for some time I can't use the rightclick
union command any more to combine two space-shapes. It still works
with "shape > operations > union". But after that it's impossible to
use the "convert to walls..." command (it isn't even there).

What could be wrong?
