Built Site In Word -- Did FTP -- Where Are My Pics?

Okay. So I laid out a tiny, simple web site in Word X for Mac's
web-building component. Everything looks just fine when I preview it.
But I used Fetch to upload the 3 pages to my web-host place, and oops
-- no pictures. I get a red X instead.

I went to Preferences and made sure the "update links" component was
clicked. I deleted and re-inserted the images. I tried uploading the
images to my Web host. Nothing has worked.

Do I have to rename the images? Is there something in the HTML code
that I can change to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HTML files are text-only files. In order to display pictures, there
is a link to a picture file that the browser downloads separately.

When you save a Word file as a Web page (say "MyPage.html"), Word
creates the text file plus a folder that contains the pictures,
MyPage_folder. That's where the links tell the browser to look for
the pictures (it's a relative link, so it tells the browser, "look
in the same folder as the html file for a folder named,
MyPage_folder, then load the picture from there").

So to make a long story even longer, one solution is to FTP the
MyPage_folder to your site, as well as the html file.

A second solution is to upload the images to whereever you want
them, and use a text editor or html editor to change the link
location.

It worked! It worked! I uploaded the file along with the htm document,
and everything worked out grand. Turns out Word had organized it
perfectly, I just missed the extra step. I can't believe I built a
website in Word. I used to be so code-smart! Ah well. Thanks, J.E.
