"Bulk Edit" to Sharepoint form library

Hello,

I am converting an old Access database to an InfoPath form for data
collection into an
Sharepoint form library. I want to preserve the existing data from
Access in this
form library, so I am trying to come up with a way to import the data
from the old database. When I go to the "bulk edit in datasheet", I
am
not able to edit or add new records. Any way to enable this method or
any other creative solutions would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Melissa

Also, this is for InfoPath 2003. I am aware of the demotion feature in
2007.

Have you considered leaving the data in Access or SQL?

The form can use it just as well from there.

We are overhauling the front end of the database anyways and are
really looking to have a portal based solution to integrate with some
other solutions that are already built. I'm open to ideas but I would
really like to get this old data into Sharepoint if there is a way.
