Bullet and Numbering Function Crashes

Word 2003
When I select Format>Bullets and Numbering
"Get MS Office Word has encounted a problem and needs to close" error
Then document recovers. Error Report mentions msvcrt.dll (VBA related dll)
Happens with a real doc or a new blank doc.
Reinstalled Word then all of Office with no improvement.
Replaced NORMAL.DOT no improvement.
Problem did not start all of a sudden. First got error message above while
using bullet funtion after awhile. Over time bullet function crashed sooner
and sonner.
Now function stopped working. I create large complex docs.

There are still a few troubleshooting steps you didn't mention, such as
checking for add-ins, other glbal templates, automatic macros, and registry

UPDATE.........................
Basic bullets now working well but now having "Customize Bulleted List"
function problems.
Font... Works OK
Character... Works OK
Picture... Hard Locks Word - Have To End Task (Word) - no recovery
Now I remeber that this were I hand the first problem weeks ago. Thats where
the snowball started. ? bobp
