Bullet Cause Word 2003 to Crash

Hi,

I have a problem with Word 2003 running on Windows Server 2003 in Terminal Server mode. Word has been running without a problem for the past eight months without an issue. We are now experiencing a problem where word will crash when apply bullets or numbering. The error is always in msvcrt.dll. Word has had all patches installed as well as the Operating system. I have also done a complete repair of the Word Installation and still have not fixed the problem. Any ideas... Anybody??

Thanks

Aaron.

It is usually a sign that the printer driver is corrupt. Try deleting and then reinstalling the printer driver. Make sure that you have the latest driver available too.

All the print drivers have been completly removed. This still didn't correct the issue that we are having. Is there any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Have you actually installed a default printer driver though: Word must be able to see a local printer driver to operate correctly.

The dll erroring is the MS Visual C+ run time library file. Another possible cause is a corruption in Word's Data Registry key. Try deleting it (it will recreate itself when Word is restarted).

\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Data

Thanks for the suggestion Terry.

Nothing has helped at all. There was two printers still install. 1 is the office imaging, and the second was acrobat pdf writer. I know that file is part of ms's runtime library and actually though of applying the updated library for it, but we are running on windows server 2003 (in ts mode). I know its a long shot, but do you have any other suggestions. I've done a detect and reapir, and a uninstall and reinstall of the product.

Thanks.

Yes. Neither document imaging or PDF is actually a printer. You need to install a proper printer driver for Word to work correctly.
