Bullet Problems

Hi All,

I've got a problem with bullets that I can't figure out. I'm copying text
from a document and am pasting it into the new text using Paste
Special/Unformatted text. Then, I want to bullet the text such that they
look something like this:

a. Line 1

b. Line 2

c. Line 3

To do so, I highlight the text, right-click, and select Bullets and
Numbering. From the Numbered tab, I select the format that looks like what
I want. When I click OK, my text looks like the following:

i. Line 1

ii. Line 2

iii. Line 3

When I highlight and select Bullets & Numbering a second time, Word shows
that I've selected Roman numeral bullets. If I choose the lower case
English a second time, the correct bullets are applied.

I've gone through each bulleted list type and reset them, to no avail. Can
anyone point out what I'm doing incorrectly? Needless to say, it's rather
frustrating.

Thanks & Ciao,

Tony

A much easier way to accomplish this is to define a style with the kind of
numbering you want and then apply it.

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for the response; it makes much more sense than what I was doing &
I'll give it a shot.

Thanks a million,

Tony
