Bullets in a resume

I am working on a resume and I have a Capabilities section with bulleted items. I entered the word Capabilities on the left margin and then tabbed over and entered the first item on the same line. I then listed additional items in the lines below. When I highlight the entire section and choose the bullets option, it bullets all the lower lines correctly, but the first line automatically moves the word Capabilities over in line with the lines below it and inserts the bullet in front of the word Capabilities. I want the word Capabilities on the left margin and the bullet in front of the first entry which is tabbed over from the word Capabilities. How do I do this? Thanks

You could use a table, with 'Capabilities' in column 1 and the bulleted list
in column 2; or manually format the first line:
Capabilities<TAB>bullet<TAB>text
