Bullets in Master

Elaine

Hello,

My slide title slide in the master view, I changed the indent spacing on the
bullets. In a new presentation using my template, the bullet layout follow my
indent spacing but when I use "Text and Content" layouts my indent spacing on
my bullets are ignored.

Please help.

You have to change the indent on the regular slide master, not the title
slide master. The title slide master governs the layout of the Title Slide
layout. The other slide master governs the layout of all the others.

Sorry to be so "dense" but what do you mean by "regular slide master"?

Which version of PPT are you using?

When you open a new blank presentation in PPT 97 through 2003 and go to View
| Master | Slide Master, you have a "regular" slide master. All slide
layouts (except the title layout) are based on this master.

If, while in Master View, you go to Insert | New Title Master, you get a
Title Master that's attached to your regular Slide Master. The slides that
use the Title Layout are based on this Title Master.

After you've edited your masters, go to View | Normal to close Master View.

Now go to Format | Slide Layout. Choose any slide layout (except "Title
Slide"). The placeholders (where it says "click to add text") should pick up
settings from the regular slide master. Choose the Title Slide layout, and
the placeholders should pick up their settings from the Title Master.

If you're inserting an ad hoc "manual" textbox from the Drawing toolbar, it
will not pick up those Master settings. The manual textboxes are designed
for short bits of text, not for multiple levels of bullets the way
placeholders are.

Does that help?
