Bullets print different character

I am using the airplane character from ZapfDingbats for my documents instead
of the standard bullet. On the screen it is fine, however when I print to
paper the bullets appear as an astrick instead. How can I fix this?

and the bullets still look OK in screen afterwards? Then this sounds
like a problem with your printer driver substituting one font for another.
