Bullets problems

I normally don't have any trouble using Bullets/numbering, but
suddenly I find that if I want to change the level of one item, when I
use the promote/demote buttons ALL the paragraphs in my document
either become bulleted or the bullets are removed or changed.

I have to press UNDO to get the change I actually wanted. The document
is very complex and has loads of numbered paragraphs, but quite a few
without numbers or bullets.

I can't understand why this has started to happen as I've not come
across this before. Any ideas please?

I've discovered that this was happening as my Normal.dot had
corrupted.
When I replaced it with a "good" one and copied the document into a
new doc based on that, the problem was gone. Phew!

Just thought you might like ot know in case it happens to anyone else.

If you highlight the item that you want to move the bullet around on, &
then go to the measurements ruler at the top & pull the little grey
triangle thingie until you have it where you want it. If you dont
highlight the only one that you want to move, then all of the bullets
with the same indent are going to move.

Hope this helps
