I have pictures in a folder on my computer. I have put them in order, added
comments and music and would like a make a slide show on a DVD, to give to
family. I can make them into a slide show, or I can put them on a DVD. I
can not seem to do both. Any helpers out there? I have windows 2003 on my
computer, also windows XP.

Do you Windows Movie Maker installed on your computer? It is a free add-in
(don't recall if installed with or an optional download) that can do what
you want and burn the result to a CD/DVD.

Windows Movie Maker, which comes with Windows XP will do what you want with
certain restrictions as to file types for the images and music.
www.papajohn.org has great resources of information for this free program.

Photostory 3 is also a free download from Microsoft

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

I use it to create video files of photographs and it will also let you add
music.

Both programs will create a .wmv file when you publish the final output.
This can be used in a DVD authoring program (none is included with Windows
XP but there are plenty free on the internet) to create a DVD that can
played on the standard home DVD player.

Again www.papajohn.org has information there for creating a DVD from the
output.

Hope this helps, let us know.
