Burning Publsiher website to CDR

[kwcook]

I am wanting to burn my website to make an interactive CD-ROM. I previously
tried htis and it worked fine on my computer but not on computers without
publisher. I published the document as a website to a folder and put both
the sub folder and the icon on the disc. The result was not all the pages
working if publisher wasnt present. The goal was to use it as a marketing
tool and replace boring business cards etc...

Any help is appreciated.

specify a path to the file you want to open. Perhaps

[autorun]open=start.exe Interactive Landscaping/index.htm

the folder to the CD then write the files to the CD the CD dosent AutoRUn to

Try this:

First create a folder on your desktop called 'MyCD'.

Next open the autorun.inf file in Notepad, delete the extra text, leave the
following and Save As the change to the new folder 'MyCD':

[Autorun]
open=AutoRunPro.exe

[AutorunPro]
Run1=index.htm

Then assuming that you published your site to a folder on your hard drive
called 'Interactive Landscaping', then all your HTML files, including your
index.htm file, and supporting files and folders are in that folder. Copy
everything in that folder to the MyCD folder.

Then copy the AutorunPro.EXE file into the MyCD folder. (Note: look at the
screen image on the tutorial under Step 4)

Then, burn the CONTENTS of the MyCD to your CD...not the folder itself.

Try this:

I burned it, ejected it, and then inserted it again and it automatically
ran. If you follow the directions CAREFULLY from the link, and you published
your website normally and let it publish with the default index.htm, then it
will work. If you chose to name it something else, go back and do it again.
Otherwise I don't know what to tell you.

versions after 2000, I can understand the impulse to build a big fire and toss
it in...

Depends on if you have autoplay enabled or disabled on the optical drive.

Right click the drive letter in Windows Explorer and select Properties to
access autoplay configuration.
