Business Contact Manager Performance

How can I improve performance (speed) of my Business Contact Manager? I've
tried the "Maintenance" function which defrags the database, and that hasn't
helped. The problem seems to occur when I want to open up a record to review
contact information and/or contact history. It now takes 2-3 minutes to open
the one record (if it doesn't lock-up), whereas it was previously virtually
instantaneous.

I have about 1,000 records, with about 25% of them linked to the Account
Database.

Does this happen opening all contacts, or only contacts with a lot of
items in the history grid?

How many history items would you estimate you have?

How is your performance when you switch folders (e.g. Click on the
Accounts or Business History folder)?

Have you upgraded or installed Service Packs for Windows (XP SP2?) or
SQL Server recently?
What CPU and RAM do you have on your machine?

Thanks

I too have the same issue. The machine spec is not the problem as it is still
as bad on a new laptop (top spec etc).

I have tried installing 'look out' to speed up searches etc and whilst this
works well for email and contact folders, it doesn't appear to work with
accounts.

The issue is that BCM is slow with accounts
(saving, searching etc). Definitely worse since I imported data from Excel.
I've de-fragged the disk and no real improvement. Please let me know of any
answers you find?

Thanks.
