I have a version of Business software that doesn't support a exchange server.
How can I make it work?

Outlook with Business Contact Manager was made for small businesses with
standalone PC's, peer-to-peer networks and Small Business Server. Look at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/outlook/contactmanager/prodinfo/faq.mspx.

"Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager is designed to work with POP3-,
IMAP-, or HTML-based e-mail systems, which are common in most small
businesses. The Business Contact Manager functionality is not enabled when
Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager is used in combination with
Microsoft Exchange Server. It is, though, enabled for Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server 2003 and hosted Exchange Server after you install a patch.
Download Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 Update: Windows Small
Business Server 2003."

This sure seems short sided allowing BCM to work with Exchange on SBS but not
as a stand-alone server!

Shame on you Microsoft for not having the foresight to allow flexibility in
your customers needs. Some of us are small business’s and have opted for
larger server packages and could really use BCM in our small sales groups
since it is just about right for our needs and not some other bloated
overpriced package that does way to much.

Guy,

I'm not sure I really understand what you said. We have three computers on
IMAP and POP. I wanted to share the contact data among all three computers.
How do I do this. I was thinking about and exchange server host, but that
does not sound like it will work. What can we do?
