Business Reasons for Portfolio Server

Hi all,

I have been asked to articulate a Business Case Portfolio Server
within the company I am currently working for.

At the moment they have seen a demo of the product and do not have any
other versions installed.

Other than what can generally be found on the web, I was wondering if
anyone has prior experience and tips on this?

Many thanks.

Hi Suzanne,

I am not sure if you are trying to utilize the envisioned business case
(that you have been asked to articulate) to leverage IT Governance through
Portfolio Server (MOPPS). If that is the case, then in MOPPS environment,
it's typically a Business Architect's role (not a business analyst!)

Microsoft EPM University conducts a robust training on MOPPS-Business
Architect and walks one through a Business Case based model and during next 4
days; the trainees actuate it through a live instance of MOPPS. This process
not only helps you to understand various functionalities of MOPPS (Governance
Control Settings, Workflow Creation, Builder, Optimizer, Dashboard, Score
Card etc), but by the end of the training, you must have run through the
entire IT Governance processes & simulated your own business cases in
parallel.

To my satisfaction, this training is a must for every beginner who aims to
leverage MOPPS to start with.

Do write, if you need any specific info related to MOPPS. Yes I do have
worked on it.

Thanks
Ajit
