Buttons not working in Preview

I have a column of hover buttons, with glow effect, which although work as
displayed in my version of IE6,
but in preview/design mode in Front Page just have oblongs where the buttons
should be,
and not working.
I understand from some people that their IE6 Browsers also display
the same symptoms.
Any ideas?

I just went through this whole problem today and discovered that the
Java application is a requires item on the system for the applets to
work.

Go to
http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp
To download the latest Java runtime from Sun Microsystems. It is free
and allows full function.

I discovered the solution from this web page after much searching.
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/

It is working for me now.
