Buttons to hide/show layers

I have a Visio chart showing process flows for updating hardware and software
systems.
Each of these is on a different layer with some overlapping shapes.

I want a few buttons across the top of the page which will hide or show a
layer, rather than having to go to the menu - View, Layer Properties and then
select/deselect the layer.
