Bypass SHIFt bypass

Hi,
I hava a Access 2002 database on a network that had SHIFT BYPASS
disabled. Beause of a network error the database is in a corrupt
state.
On startup I am getting the following error - "Miscosoft access has
detected a corruption in this file. to try to repair the coruption,
first make a backup copy of the file. then, on the tools menu, point
to Database Utilities and click compact and repair."
(On startup the system gets the network user login ID.)
I cannot acccess the menu to do anything, because the statup form is
not working properly.
Can anyone tell me how to bypass this or any comand prompt code that
would dis-able the startup ?

Thank you.

Hi,

This is just a suggestion and not sure if it will work but you have nothing
to lose. I had a corrupted database one time and I imported everything into a
new database and it seemed to work fine.

Create a new database and leave the name a db1.mdb. Then, import all
information from your corrupted one: Tables, Forms etc.. and see what
happens. My problem may be different from your but it's worth a shot and will
only take you less than five minutes.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Stockwell43 for the feedback.

I initially tried what you suggested before posting.
I tried Linking and Importing the tables into a new database but the
error stilled appeared.
I downloaded and tried the Microsoft "Jet Comp" compact utility but
still no resolution.

The database is definately in a corrupt state since the network went
down in the middle of me updating a form.

I was finally able to get the network admin to restore a previous
backup from last week.
But all transactions over the weekend will have to be re-entered.

That was my next suggestion to have IT send you a back up of the day
(weekday) before. I know it hurts to have to input all the info from the
weekend but it's much better than not having it at all I guess. I've been
there and know what a pain it is when the database is down. Glad you're at
least up and running and in a couple of days this will all be behind you )

Take care and sorry I couldn't be of more help.
