Bypassing Norton Antivirus to receive mail

I don't want to disable my Norton Antivirus, but it won't let me receive mail in Outlook 2003. What can I do to get the antivirus to allow my mail through?

disable the mail scanning option. you really don't need it when you use
autoprotect.
