Ron,
Unfortunately, MS has "improved" Publisher 2003. 2003 uses different code
technologies, refer to
http://www.davidbartosik.com/pub11.htm
Its unfortunate, but it seems to me that MS has pretty much ruined the use
of Publisher for building a web site with the changes made in Pub 2003.
Though some of the changes made were good, I would imagine that most will
find the large file size simply unworkable. Heck, I still use a dial-up
connection, and a 40 meg file would take me about 3.5 hours to upload. Its
too bad, because it was a fairly easy learning curve from building a
Publisher document for print, to building a simple, basic web site, which is
all the average Publisher user wanted. If they wanted more sophistication,
they would take the time to learn Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc.
FWIW, I still use Publisher 2000 for my site. Perhaps reload 2000 along with
2003...they can co-exist.

I have been using Publisher 97 and 2000 for the past 6 years using Windows
95. I purchased a new computer and I am now using Windows XP and Publisher
2003. My web page via publisher 2000 was approximately 4.0 MB. When I
udated to Publisher 2003 my web page showed as approximately 40 MB. When I
save as web page or web filtered to my C: it still is 40 MB or more and with
filtered, I have extensions as .png. Don't understand the .png extension.
Where and why I am getting the extra memory? Problem; my host will not let
me have more than 25 MB in my web page. I don't want to have 40 MB or more.
I want to go back to the 4 to 5 MB I use to have. Any help would be
appreciated.
