C:\\Program Files\Microsft Office is corrupt & unreadable

I am at a loss. I am unable to repair, delete or reinstall Microsft Office
XP Pro. I am about to re-install windows but thought I woud ask first. I
have gone to knowledge base to knowledge base to no avail. The error codes i
have nbeen seeing are:
error 2330: Setup cannot get te sttributes for files C:\\Program
Files|Microsot Office\OFFICE 11\US runtime. Verify that the file exists in
your system & that you have sufficient permission to update it
