Simple rules...

Keep it simple.
Never more than one duplex sheet of paper - one side if you are young with
little experience.
Only put the most important details, so start with...

Personal information (name, address, date of birth and phone number)
Highest education/qualifications and most significant vocational training
Work starting with current job in detail going back to earliest jobs (less
detail with older jobs if space is limited)
Finally achievements, interests, hobbies, etc.

Make sure it is in one readable font - no tacky borders, highlights or fancy
stuff - plain and easy to read is the rule. Make sure that there are no
stupid spelling errors. Include a covering letter saying why you are
applying for the job and why you think you are suited to the job.
