Cached email addresses

Where and in what file would I find the email address
history that pops up as you start typing an email address
that you have already emailed at least once before?

They are in the autocompletion cache, a file with an NK2 extension. Remove
individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting the entry
when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to migrate to
the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of the field.
To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:

May I just say thanks for this answer it solved an annoying problem for a
client.
