Cached Email Addresses

I read a Knowledgebase article that says that the cached email addresses in
Outlook reside in a file with an .NK2 extension. I did a search of my hard
disk for *.NK2 files and can't find any.

Where are the email addresses that pop up in the address lines kept? There's
got to be a file that stores this information as I can't believe that all
those email addresses are stored in the Registry.

I'm using Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP Pro machine with SP2.

Please let me know.

They are in the .NK2 file. When you do your search make sure you have
"Search Hidden and System Folders" selected.

Thanks. Can you copy them from one computer to another and will Outlook
recognize them when they're copied over? From their naming convention used by
the NK2 files, I take it that they are related to a specific user profile.
Correct?

So if I copy the NK2 from another computer and rename them to the current
user profile, they should work with my current installation of Outlook. Is
that the case?

I believe so, yes, though I've never tried it. I've copied them from
profile to profile (same user) successfully before.
