In regards to Outlook 2003 attaching to an Exchange 2003 SP1 Server using
Cached Exchanged Mode:
I was wondering if there was any documentation as to the logic during a
Disconnected phase in Outlook. In other words, when the network connection
drops, OL goes from Connected to Disconnected. When the connection returns,
OL goes back to Connected, then synchronizes.
However, if the connection is down for a longer time, I gather that OL
increases its "retry" interval. For example, if the network is down for 10
seconds, OL will immediately retry the connection when it returns. If the
connection is down for 12 minutes, OL won't try again for another 3 minutes.
I would like to understand what, if any logic is applied during a short vs.
a long network outage and how to tweak those settings in the registry.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
