Cached OLK2003 /w Exch 5.5 Migration to Cached OLK2003 /w Exch 200

I wanted to ask the community regarding this situation and find out the
behaviour of the Outlook client. Currently we are undergoing a migration as
outlined above. One of the migration options for the Outlook client was to
migrate users to Outlook 2003 Cached Mode while using Exchange 5.5, and when
the Exchange 2003 environment was ready perform a migration to the new
environment, and redirect Outlook clients to the new Exchange 2003 server.
This would be an Inter-Organizational migration.

My question is, how does Cached Mode react to the new mail server, and does
it recreate a new OST File?

If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Outlook should find the new server and the old ost should work, but I would
replace it with a new one for Unicode support.

Thanks Diane. The migration is an inter-organizational migration, so the old
Exchange 5.5 Server is in it's own site, and the new Exchange 2003 server is
in a totally separate site. I'll be testing this weekend to be sure, but I
was just wanted to know possibly what I should expect the behaviour to be.

oh - then you'll probably need new profiles, which is recommended if the
profiles were created in an older version of outlook.
