Cached Sound

I have a PowerPoint presentation that I'm attempting to insert sound
files in (.cda format, inserting via Insert Movies). I have the source
sound files on CD and saved to My Music on C:\.

Here's the weird part: when I insert a file (which goes smoothly) and
play it (which also works find), it recognizes all of the files as the
same sound clip. To be specific, we're inserting clips from songs and
if I insert James Brown's "Get On Up" it plays "When I'm 64," by the
Beatles.

I'm stumped. It's almost like that sound file (which was the first I
inserted) is cached somewhere, and I can't figure out how to remove it.

If anyone has any words of wisdom, I'd appreciate it. As is often the
case with PowerPoint, I'm on deadline for COB today :(

Thanks-
Amanda

First, you shouldn't be able to play CDA files. You need to "rip" the file from
the CD and save it as a WAV or MP3. Then use Insert > Sound from File to put it
in your presentation. I use Audiograbber for ripping a file from CD. It is
free and can be downloaded from http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/
