CAD file not getting inserted in Visio 2007

When I try to insert AutoCAD 2007 dwg file in visio 2007, I am getting the
following error:
Cannot open file. The file may not be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be in a
supported version of the DXF file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the
file and try again.

Kindly advise on how to insert Autocad file and also convert it into visio
shapes.

I doubt Visio 2007 can import from as recent as AutoCAD 2007. Can you
save the AutoCAD file in an earlier format?

Current versions of Visio can read up to AutoCAD 2002 format files.

There are plans to upgrade the formats that can be read in future versions :
