Caere macro certificate expired in Word 2000 on Office XP

I recently installed Office XP (Developer) on my NT2K. I
already had Works installed and did not uninstall any of
it.

When I open Word, I get a Security warning:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10

contains macros by
Caere Corporation

A certificate (signing or issuer) has expired.

Looking at more detail:

A required certificate is not within its validy period
when verifying against the current system clock or the
timestamp in the signed file.

The certificate is valid from 7/14/1999 to 7/14/2000.

If I do not enable macros, Word will not exit cleanly
(gives another macro certificate error), but seems to
behave well otherwise.

I need to fix this. Help!
