calcs from form to tables

Hello,
We currently perform nice calculations in our forms but
they are really just a graphical display. We need these
calculations to show up in our tables.
How do I do this?
I've peaked at macros and VBA and suspect the answer lies
there. Maybe to put a "setvalue" macro on the "after
update" line? I couldn't get that to work, though.
Any help is much appreciated.
