Calculated Dates not correct

I have a resources that can work 50% on a particular project. Th
resource dialog shows that the resource is available 50%

I have a task that I have estimated to take 2 days.
I assign this resource to the task.
The completed date still shows 2 days from the start date. Since thi
resource can only work 50% of the time, shouldn't the complete date no
be 4 days from the start date?

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Project will assume you know what you're doing when you first assign a
resource. If the resource has only 50% availability, Project assumes you
want him to work at that level for the 2 days of the Duration. If you had
assigned him for 2 days at 100%, the Duration would still be 2 days,
However, if you subsequently reduce the assignment to 50%, then by default,
the Duration will increase to 4 days.
