Calculated field in a form

Carla

Hi

I thought I asked this question once already but it seems
like it never appeared.

I have a form set up in a table. I have a couple of
fields that I want to multiply automatically as soon as
those fields are filled in.

For example, I have a field I have bookmarked "Price" and
one that is bookmarked "MaxStockLevel". I would like to
have a calculated field that would automatically show
Total amount added to inventory.

I used Control + F9 in a field but I obviously am not
entering the right stuff after because nothing seems to
work.

Can anyone help me.

Carla,

Unfortunatel Word field is a regular document don't calculate until an
Update field command is executed which is normally done at time of print (or
print preview). You might consider using a protected form. Your variable
can be entered as text fields and set up to calculate on exit. See:

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm

for tips in using protected forms. A calculation is field is easily set up.
Just enter a text field, double click it and change the type to calculation.
From there you can enter your expressions.

You did ask this question in the word.tables NG, where I answered it.
