Calculated Field

Cathy

I have a calculated field in a form (that was working & now it's not). The
formula is as follows:

=[2009 TOTAL Participants (July)]/[2009 EE]

The above referenced are fields in the form (which are not calculated
fields). The formula is located in the
Control Source, Default Value, Before Update and After Update locations. It
is set to percent with 2 decimal places. I receive a #Name? error.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

When Access says "#Name", it's telling you it doesn't recognize the name of
the control/field/form. Spelling counts.

Are you absolutely certain you have two fields bound to the form, with the
names (spelling counts!):

[2009 TOTAL Participants (July)]

[2009 EE]

A couple observations...

If you have a field or a form with a year in the name/title, you have a
spreadsheet, not a relational database!

If you have a field or a form with a month in the name/title, you have a
spread... (you get the idea).

I'm guessing that your database would benefit from further normalization.
After all, Access is optimized for well-normalized data. Both you and
Access will have to work overtime to overcome 'sheet data...

Good luck!
