Calculating Costs

I posted this in the server group and they told me I'd probably need a
macro. Is there anyone that can help me out with this?

There are several projects in our department that have a different way of
calculating costs. The project itself has a fixed cost. However,
individual tasks (there are only a few) are calculated as a percentage of
the total project cost. How do I reflect this in project? (Do I just have
to type in the numbers in the cost fields, or is there a way I can get
Project to calculate the task cost percentage based on project cost?)
